889 Posted January 25, 2018 at 01:20 PM Report Posted January 25, 2018 at 01:20 PM In case folks would like to see the whole thing: http://www.jdzmc.com/Article/Class5/gushi/2012/03/15/21534.html The text states that these "faker than fake" porcelain plaques were found for sale on a Kunming street. They -- like yours -- purport to be signed by the famous porcelain artist, 余顺福 Yu Shunfu. It looks like you have a second of sorts: obviously the inscription should have been printed further up, against the sky, so it could be read clearly. Yours seems to have been cut down for framing, so the inscription was lowered and rendered illegible. Normally this doesn't happen because inscriptions are normally written out by hand, not printed on as on your piece. Nothing wrong with buying things you like, but I really hope not you're not spending serious money on some of the things you're posting here. Quote
NaytanDova Posted January 25, 2018 at 01:56 PM Author Report Posted January 25, 2018 at 01:56 PM No, my dad deals in antiques and art and I like to dabble too. I always see lots of cool looking Chinese and Japanese items but not being able to read them means I’d be buying blindly, I post things on here so I know the artists names. I only buy when I’m fully assured the piece is genuine. Thanks for your help, that’s brilliant,y our help I mean, the plaque not so brilliant haha. Quote
lips Posted February 1, 2018 at 05:17 PM Report Posted February 1, 2018 at 05:17 PM In case you want to know, the title is "貂蟬拜月“, "Diaochan worships the moon". Diaochan was one of the Four Beauties of ancient China. Quote
