Chinese Zodiac year is NOT the Chinese lunar year

In the part of the world that uses traditional Chinese, the Chinese zodiac is still very important. I know the zodiac sign of all my family, but have know idea about their Western Zodiac sign.  Break up with someone and very quickly they'll ask what animal are they, and use it to explain why the relationship was doomed from the start etc.  It's not really used for fortune telling, but people do pay attention with regards to relationships/compatibility. It was the doctors in the hospital in HK who pointed out the 4 Feb start date, so they're going with their opinion.

I was also quite surprised when finding this out a number of years ago.
