zander1 Posted March 1, 2018 at 02:29 PM Report Posted March 1, 2018 at 02:29 PM Thought this might be of interest to some people - The New York Times have collated their most popular Chinese articles of 2017 together for easy access. Most of them are quite long-form, and of the ones I've read they've all been pretty interesting. All the ones I have read so far have been Chinese originals (i.e. not translations of articles written in English, which most of the articles on their main Chinese website are) but I assume some will be translations. I can definitely recommend No.1 which is one students' recollections of Tiananmen (with some truly stunning and moving photographs which have just been released) and No.4 which is about a sociologist who studied both China and Japan in the early 1900s.
