TimAstier Posted March 15, 2018 at 10:26 AM Report Posted March 15, 2018 at 10:26 AM What is the ideal textbook for learning a language? Most people say they want to study topics that are interesting to them and learn the most useful things first. In addition, a great textbook should integrate all the various resources available to overcome each unique challenge of Chinese. There should be a plot to make you interested in opening the next chapter. And everything should be so well organized and clearly explained that you can use the book on your own even if you don’t have access to a teacher. ChineseMe is an interactive textbook I’ve been working on for the past year. It is a systematic course designed for people who have decided to really become fluent. I just released the first part (designed for complete beginners) and I’m now looking for beta readers to give feedback and ideas to improve it. The course is available: on the website (currently only works with Chrome, on a computer) as a PDF Here is a brief overview of what makes ChineseMe unique: Totally interactive Adapts to reader interests Rich content (illustrations coming soon) Integrates best practices for learning Pronunciation, Vocab, Grammar, Characters and Culture What do you think about this approach? If you are as enthusiastic about Chinese as I am, give me your feedback! Quote
