Agree on this. And also sometimes the chengyu describes it better than simple words can so. Example: 与世隔绝

@Wippen (inactive) I don't know if it's necessarily the most frequently used chengyu's, but I listen to Laszlo Montgomery's Chinese Sayings Podcast. I find it helpful to hear the background and story of the chengyu to stick in my memory more. And if you don't already listen, I'll also recommend his China History Podcast which is amazing!
