magores Posted August 15, 2005 at 09:56 PM Report Posted August 15, 2005 at 09:56 PM If someone were, lets say... 6' 2" tall, approximately 210lbs, What difficulties would there be in obtaining clothing in Beijing? For example, I know it can get very hot, and very cold in Beijing. For obvious reasons, I wouldn't want to bring a full year worth of clothing with me. I'd like to pick up bulkier items, such as a winter coat while I was there. Any severe problems finding items like this for someone my size in Beijing? Cost is cheaper or comparable to California prices? Thanks for any tips. Quote
mr.stinky Posted August 16, 2005 at 01:24 AM Report Posted August 16, 2005 at 01:24 AM when he reached 190 pounds, he decided to move to kunming, with a smaller population and fewer furriners..... where would he find size 12 shoes? hiking boots? i suppose he could have most clothing (shirts/t-shirts/slacks) tailored. would it be advisable to put together a package of shoes/socks/undies/winterwear and have someone mail it over once he got himself established? phbriggs Posted August 16, 2005 at 06:32 AM Report Posted August 16, 2005 at 06:32 AM I am 6'4" and weigh about 90kg (200lb). I had difficulty finding clothes off the rack that fitted me. They could be found, but it can take a little searching. The clothes are very cheap in China - compared to Australia they are about a sixth of the price (for non-western brand equil). Also, if you foot is bigger than UK10, finding shoes can be a challenge. They will have larger shoes, but the styles look like something out of the 70s. Getting suits/clothes tailored is a possibility if you have time. Quote
