lonny tao Posted April 30, 2018 at 05:11 PM Report Share Posted April 30, 2018 at 05:11 PM I bought myself a Chinese fan, one side is full with Chinese characters, maybe a poem or story. I cannot read this but a picture of the whole text was not good possible. The other side of the fan has pictures of four Chinese women and each women has two characters. My question: what does the two characters mean by the women (number 1-4). And what does the seal marks and the characters mean that are also on the fan (5 and 6) Can anyone help me with this please. Jim Posted April 30, 2018 at 05:26 PM Report Share Posted April 30, 2018 at 05:26 PM The characters by the women are names of famous beauties from history, 西施, 贵妃, 邵君 and 貂蝉. Then there's a date too and what I think is a signature using a style name though might have that wrong.

And I found them already on the internet. Now only a exact translation of picture 6 would be nice.

Anyone can write anything on a Chinese fan.
