Help With this Phrase

I'm having trouble understanding this phrase I read in a novel. Doing some googling, it seems to be classical in nature: I might be wrong.

青山落日,秋月春风。当真是朝如青丝暮成雪,是非成败转头空。

Ok, this is the final version:

The sun sets over the blue mountains,

the autumn moon, and spring winds.

Hair like black threads by dawn, now snow white by the evening.

Succeed or fail; when you look back there’s nothing left.
