Easy chinese texts on the internet ?

Does anyone know a place online where you can find easy chinese texts (simplified characters), like childrens stories, etc.

I find it easier to learn new characters when seeing them in a text, although my level is not high enough to read newspapers etc.

Thanks

You can download NJStar and copy the text then select simplified from the "Help" menu.

Excellent link' date=' Nipponman!

Much more here but no sound recordings.

I think that site is really good. You have the option of either seeing the text in pinyin, simplified, traditional or English. Also, you can listen to the dialogue while reading it, and for each lesson it has a section on vocab, grammar, and sentence patterns.

I seem to have a problem with the vocab section though. The pinyin seems to get sliced off. Is it a problem with my browser, and if it is, is there any way to fix it? Just wondering because it is rather annoying. Not to mention that it makes the vocab section more difficult to use.

Yes, thank you all for the great links! And I'm a traditional character man myself so they are all very useful. I can't believe Roddy made a mistake in a link posting, he's usually impeccable haha. (sh)

:tong It was an initiative test, to see who could manage to find the link I was referring to and post it. You all failed :)

Roddy

PS Sorry, I'm stupid, link fixed.

Haha the question is what if I would have guessed correctly.. "I think Roddy was probably trying to link to THIS site.."..

Maybe I would have won a free lifetime subscription to this site?
