daxia Posted August 18, 2005 at 03:54 AM Report Posted August 18, 2005 at 03:54 AM Does anyone know a place online where you can find easy chinese texts (simplified characters), like childrens stories, etc. I find it easier to learn new characters when seeing them in a text, although my level is not high enough to read newspapers etc. Thanks /梁伟明 Quote

Mynheer Peeperkorn Posted August 19, 2005 at 06:47 AM Report Posted August 19, 2005 at 06:47 AM http://chinese.rutgers.edu/content_c.htm I think that site is really good. You have the option of either seeing the text in pinyin, simplified, traditional or English. Also, you can listen to the dialogue while reading it, and for each lesson it has a section on vocab, grammar, and sentence patterns. I seem to have a problem with the vocab section though. The pinyin seems to get sliced off. Is it a problem with my browser, and if it is, is there any way to fix it? Just wondering because it is rather annoying. Not to mention that it makes the vocab section more difficult to use. Quote

necroflux Posted August 19, 2005 at 07:06 PM Report Posted August 19, 2005 at 07:06 PM Yes, thank you all for the great links! And I'm a traditional character man myself so they are all very useful. I can't believe Roddy made a mistake in a link posting, he's usually impeccable haha. (sh) Quote
roddy Posted August 20, 2005 at 02:11 AM Report Posted August 20, 2005 at 02:11 AM It was an initiative test, to see who could manage to find the link I was referring to and post it. You all failed Roddy PS Sorry, I'm stupid, link fixed. Quote
necroflux Posted August 20, 2005 at 10:10 PM Report Posted August 20, 2005 at 10:10 PM Haha the question is what if I would have guessed correctly.. "I think Roddy was probably trying to link to THIS site..".. Maybe I would have won a free lifetime subscription to this site? Quote
