I am hoping to continue training in dragon boat in Shenyang! I have trained for many years, starting in Singapore in 2005, then Sydney and Melbourne. IMNHO it is the true team sport, in that rhythm takes the boat forward, not primadonnas. Rhythm comes from paddles being in sync and is primary, with strength secondary. Of course, the team that syncs best and is strongest wins the race. As such, for the global trotter, train enough with a team and the strange new city will no longer be a strange; now you know 20 people in the boat. 2 Quote

Zhuhai is next door Macau, the Chinese people in Macau is almost same people in Zhuhai. dragon boat racing used to be Yangtze river and south of it, northerners do not play it, i guess due to the river/lake not so convenient. In other sense, dragon boat origin from south .So, civilized area in ancient time of China, northerners , the civilized people do not play rather savages game. In south, it is a town, village thing, not like today " international" racing... The good thing is , when it become international , you may found it in Shenyang, good luck! Even in the Tang poem, you can see the north south difference and dragon boat.... Quote
