Lexel Posted June 7, 2018 at 01:03 AM Report Posted June 7, 2018 at 01:03 AM Hi everyone i just recieved my passport back with my visa in the post after applying for my L visa in my application, i supplied my return flight booking and accommodation booking showing I was staying for 5 weeks. my visa says - duration of each stay 30 days after entry I don’t understand. My flights are 35 days apart. Is this normal for an L visa? Quote
Jim Posted June 7, 2018 at 02:42 AM Report Posted June 7, 2018 at 02:42 AM Not a great expert but thirty days is a common duration of stay though they might have given you longer if feeling generous/sensible; you ought to be able to extend in-country to cover the overlap though that is of course a faff and a waste of holiday time. abcdefg Posted June 7, 2018 at 03:40 AM Report Posted June 7, 2018 at 03:40 AM What country issues your passport? In other words, where do you live? On your application you need to ask for the duration of stay that you want. Cannot depend on the consular staff to figure it out from your ancillary documents (hotel bookings/flight reservations.) You still might not get what you hope for, but at least that way you have a chance. Quote
Lexel Posted June 7, 2018 at 03:50 AM Author Report Posted June 7, 2018 at 03:50 AM I wrote 35 days on the application. I live in New Zealand Quote
mungouk Posted June 7, 2018 at 03:51 AM Report Posted June 7, 2018 at 03:51 AM In that case doesn't it look as though they made a mistake? I would contact the visa centre/consulate and point out that you told them 35 days. Quote
Lexel Posted June 7, 2018 at 03:57 AM Author Report Posted June 7, 2018 at 03:57 AM I thought so to. I first thought that all visas are 90 days. After reading more, it seems it’s 30. It never said that on their website about 30 days maximum Quote
