NinjaTurtle Posted June 7, 2018 at 06:27 PM Report Posted June 7, 2018 at 06:27 PM Which countries are you considering teaching in? The requirements vary widely from country to country. Quote
somethingfunny Posted June 7, 2018 at 07:34 PM Report Posted June 7, 2018 at 07:34 PM As NinjaTurtle says. If you want to teach private classes, you wouldn't need to even prove your Chinese skills. If you want to teach in a British secondary school, you'll need a lot more than just an HSK. Quote
doomknight1905 Posted June 7, 2018 at 11:16 PM Author Report Posted June 7, 2018 at 11:16 PM well im considering doing it in portugal or maybe in vietnam Quote
Hofmann Posted June 8, 2018 at 05:19 AM Report Posted June 8, 2018 at 05:19 AM In many places, you'll need more than a proficiency certificate (and not the HSK, since you're not considering China). If you want to teach in the US, you can start here. Private schools can do whatever they want so you might not need anything. Quote
Pandarow Posted June 8, 2018 at 06:31 AM Report Posted June 8, 2018 at 06:31 AM If you have a long plan to teach Chinese, the best way is to apply for China scholarship and get a Chinese teaching degree. More information here: http://www.hanban.edu.cn/teachers/. Quote
NinjaTurtle Posted June 8, 2018 at 03:54 PM Report Posted June 8, 2018 at 03:54 PM Doom Knight, What level of students do you want to teach? Elementary school? University? Teach private lessons to businessmen? Quote

NinjaTurtle Posted June 11, 2018 at 08:49 PM Report Posted June 11, 2018 at 08:49 PM Doom Knight, First you need to check what qualifications are required to be just a regular elementary school teacher in either Portugal or Vietnam. Then you need to check what they require of a Chinese teacher in these schools. You also need to check the job markets. Do they have such teachers? Do they need such teachers? Is there a big demand for such teachers? Is there a lot of competition for such jobs? If there is no demand for teachers in these schools, are there other schools which do have a demand for such teachers? Quote
