Zeppa Posted June 15, 2018 at 11:12 PM Report Posted June 15, 2018 at 11:12 PM I must just add something I forgot about: when I get a train at the local station, going to central London, I work out how far along the platform to stand, and it depends how long the train is. There is a message and an announcement "This train is formed of four (or eight, or twelve) carriages"! I totally forgot that but I see it every time and we were discussing it. And yes, some railway lines say 'this train is formed of eight coaches", apparently. 1 Quote
NinjaTurtle Posted June 16, 2018 at 01:38 AM Author Report Posted June 16, 2018 at 01:38 AM Zeppa, thanks for that clarification. I remember in Japan they would sometimes announce how many "cars" the next train would have, so we would make sure to wait for the next train on the right part of the platform. Quote
