hong long Posted July 4, 2018 at 06:11 PM Report Posted July 4, 2018 at 06:11 PM Hi everyone, I should have passed the HSK 2 exam. I would like to know your best experiences for lessons with native Chinese and if you have any very good teacher to advise me. I already do a course at the Confucius Institute (semptember again), but I wanted to supplement it with a few more lessons. The average cost per hour how much is it? Is the platform for the lessons always Skype? Is Italki the best? Thanks to everyone for the advice. 1 Quote
mungouk Posted July 5, 2018 at 12:50 AM Report Posted July 5, 2018 at 12:50 AM If you go onto italki.com you can search for Chinese teachers who are native speakers and browse their reviews and prices. The ones with all 5-star ratings tend to charge more. A 30-minute trial lesson is cheaper obviously. There's nothing to stop you having trial lessons with several teachers before deciding whether or not to continue with one of them. I started off using Skype with my italki teacher but then we switched to Zoom (also free) as it seemed to give better quality connections, although audio hasn't been perfect for us in the last month or so. My teacher says she has had very good results using WeChat, but I don't use it. italki.com doesn't control how you communicate — it's mainly a platform for finding/reviewing teachers and scheduling the lessons, as well as a few other features. 1 Quote
