how do you translate "catch up" in the context of "I haven't seen you in awhile, we need to catch up"? Thanks for the help.

赶上 (gǎnshàng) 某人(mǒurén) - to catch up with somebody

That's not what he meant.

We don't usually say we need to catch up in Chinese.

很久不见了,我们真的要好好谈谈,你最近怎么样了?
