skylee Posted August 19, 2005 at 11:21 PM Report Posted August 19, 2005 at 11:21 PM Looks like the only china-related brand is HSBC (Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation). But it is based in the UK now. Quote
Outofin Posted August 20, 2005 at 01:35 AM Report Posted August 20, 2005 at 01:35 AM I've read many reports saying Samsung is doing a fabulous job, but I still try to avoid it as a consumer. Quote
trusmis Posted August 20, 2005 at 09:11 AM Report Posted August 20, 2005 at 09:11 AM Around 50% USA brands, I didn't think they have such a power in the economy. Quote
Alicante9797 Posted November 25, 2005 at 01:23 PM Report Posted November 25, 2005 at 01:23 PM American reports...seen with american eyes....little value elsewhere. It reminds me of my first time in USA....when I was so impressed with all the big and well equipped american cara that was also so inexpencive compared to European cars. Untill one of my new colleagues said: "But who is stupid enough to buy an american car?". ...I had to drive one before I understood what he ment..... Who really care about these american brands? Just naive americans I guess.... Quote
bhchao Posted November 26, 2005 at 07:57 PM Author Report Posted November 26, 2005 at 07:57 PM I think there is a widely held consensus among Asians that American cars suck. It's a fact that they do suck. Very rarely do you find an Asian driver driving an American car. Many Americans themselves drive Camry's, Accords, Civics, Lexus because Japanese cars have a consistently high quality record. Also Hyundai is making remarkable strides in quality. Previously Hyundai had a below average quality record. Well not anymore. Quote
Celso Pin Posted November 26, 2005 at 09:50 PM Report Posted November 26, 2005 at 09:50 PM i can tell about it in Brazil... ford and GM are good sellers here... but not with american cars... Ford and GM sell only European developed cars Like focus and Ka for ford and the opel line for GM... The four (TOP sellers) brands for cars in brazil are: Volkswagen Fiat GM (Chevrolet - but look - Adam Opel cars...) Ford. Now, for mid-size vehicles, Toyota and Honda are destroying the competition... but mid-size are less then 20% of market... we are poor and we buy compact cars...specially form fiat and VW... off course, when you think about cars, you think about ferraris and porsches... or bmw and mercedes... or any friend here when think in dreams cars think in an Chevrolet Impala???
