BLCU on-campus accommodation - which should I choose?

Hi,

I'm going to attend the Chinese language program for one semester at Beijing Language and Culture University and stay at on-campus dorms.

There are three types of rooms available for single (I never consider sharing rooms).

1. normal dorms: 90-160 RMB/day

2. business single: 140-198 RMB

3. luxury single: 205-348 RMB

The second and third seems to be in different accommodation (on-campus guesthouse). My questions are:

1. I'm paranoid for noises when sleeping. Is (1) noisy or not? Does the floor also have sharing rooms (which I think are noisier) or kitchen?

2. How about (2)? Is it like hotels or more like guesthouses where students talk with each other?

3. Can I bring someone including friends outside of campus to the room and if so which types of room can I?

For me (3) may be the best but it is a bit expensive...

Thanks!

Hi,

I think points 1 and 2 might be best answered by someone from BCLU or an alumni but with regards to your 3. question it depends though officially you can't, and having guests stay when not registered with the local law enforcements can cause problems for them and you.
