I‘m getting a tattoo in Chinese characters tomorrow and would like to check if the spelling sounds natural ( it is intended in the old letters) : 雌狮 怒吼 ( The roar of a lioness ) i originally wanted it to be something along the lines of Roaring lioness , but I don’t know how to translate it . thank you ! Shelley Posted August 20, 2018 at 11:37 AM Report Share Posted August 20, 2018 at 11:37 AM In a word don't, don't get this tattooed on you. If you are so unaware of how the Chinese language works that you have asked for someone to "check your spelling" and that you have intended it to be in "old letters" instead of traditional characters makes me feel you have no real understanding of Chinese and you will end up making a HUGE mistake. What you have there is lioness bellows, utter rubbish. It doesn't make it special or impart any magic powers if it is written in Chinese characters. Who is going to be able to read it, what is the point of having a message that you want to share in a language that the people around can't read, if they could read Chinese you would have asked them. If you ask someone to tattoo this and they have no knowledge of how to write characters you could end up with a horrible mess. Really don't do this. Pick a nice font in your own language or just a good picture of a lioness roaring. I sure hope you read this in time, Please think before you ink and think again and again.
