Catarina Ferreira Posted October 11, 2018 at 10:56 PM Report Posted October 11, 2018 at 10:56 PM Hello everyone, I recently graduated in translation/intepretation portuguese-chinese and right now I work as a Mandarin teacher in the Confucius institute of my home country. However, I would like to go back to China, more exactly to Beijing in order to proceed with my studies. I'm particularly interested in the field of linguistics. I would like to receive some feedback of the people who have graduated in Chinese applied linguistics and if the prospects of doing research within this field are good in China. I'm particularly interested in doing my masters of linguistics in Peking University, so if anyone knows how this course is run I would be more than appreciated to hear your opinions! Thank you very much! Quote
Xiao Kui Posted October 13, 2018 at 08:38 AM Report Posted October 13, 2018 at 08:38 AM I don't know if he visits the forums anymore, but John Pasden did his master's in applied linguistics in China awhile back and wrote about it on his blog. Here is one such entry and you can click on the relevant tags beneath it for more. The articles are a bit dated, but I'd be surprised if much has changed. 1 Quote
