889 Posted October 14, 2018 at 04:54 PM Report Share Posted October 14, 2018 at 04:54 PM Please stop buying Chinese stuff until you've studied the field a lot more. You're just throwing your money away. 一模一样: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/hot-sell-new-free-shipping-hot-sell-new-antique-old-Handcrafted-Solid-silver-copper-Miao-Silver/32903811460.html?spm=2114 (Moulded. Shelley Posted October 14, 2018 at 08:24 PM Report Share Posted October 14, 2018 at 08:24 PM Aren't there some rules about the use of antique, vintage, classic and the like? I know here in UK a motorbike is veteran if it built before 1915 and after as vintage but there is also the loose classification of classic, anything built before 1981 and for UK road tax purposes Historic its before 1977. How can they just say something is antique without any provenance?
Tomsima Posted October 14, 2018 at 10:42 PM Report Share Posted October 14, 2018 at 10:42 PM I'm still wondering what the first character is before …寶齋, 難道是榮?Looks something like 琴 but with a 罒 at the top?
889 Posted October 14, 2018 at 11:29 PM Report Share Posted October 14, 2018 at 11:29 PM 墨寶齋 正宗 http://jd.cang.com/1111364.html And when someone posted this on a Chinese board, the advice was, "非石,更非端石。现代作品,请勿再买," or pretty much what I said. https://bbs.artron.net/thread-2894420-1-1.html This is probably fired from a clay like 澄泥, long used for making inkstones. https://baike.baidu.com/item/澄泥砚
NaytanDova Posted October 15, 2018 at 08:33 AM Author Report Share Posted October 15, 2018 at 08:33 AM Antique refers to being over 100 years old in England at least. Technically this listing on eBay isn't legal, it's more of a common mistake though. I'll tell the guy at least
