Today's LARB China Channel has a  good short article on active and passive voice in Mandarin. Now I finally know when to use 被...

...And what a splendid choice for a page banner!

Passive-Aggressive: Expressing misfortune, and resistance, in Mandarin
by Anne Henochowicz  (3 min read)

The conclusion:

"Shun the passive voice in English, if you must. Wield bèi when you share your woes – and when you want to fight back."

Interesting article.

Is there a meaning for the page banner?

"Fuck Strunk & White" maybe...?

It suggests that the teacher doesn't really understand the word she's so innocently teaching. Probably an old cartoon. Now, even teachers in remote locations are familiar with that sort of vocabulary thanks to the internet.

The article is very funny, but I think the grammar is correct?

Nice article. It's nice to see the example with 被 written out next to the 把 sentence for comparison.

The examples with 被自杀 and 被代表 are pretty good too.
