ksebaldt Posted October 28, 2018 at 12:53 PM Author Report Share Posted October 28, 2018 at 12:53 PM Thanks a lot ? Just wondering...how do you figure out that it is a fake mark?
Shelley Posted October 28, 2018 at 03:59 PM Report Share Posted October 28, 2018 at 03:59 PM Probably because most of them are fake. Even hundreds of years ago marks were used that were not real, one mark that started off being real say in 1775 mark porcelain as being made in 1775 would be used for a hundred years or more. The dating of Chinese porcelain is difficult, experts use other clues other than the marks to determine age , maker and location. My advice when buying it is to buy because you like and not as an investment or pension plan
