First time to make contributions ?

As a Chinese teacher, I've created some youtube learning videos in my free time, which it might be useful to students. Now there're just a few videos, but I'll try to make more if people like them.

I've watched one of your videos about ordering food in a restaurant. One thing that I often find disconcerting about this style of teaching (everyone does this, but maybe you can break the mold) is the huge discrepancy between the real world and the lesson content.  On the one hand, it's fine to teach people complete sentences, but I think it's important to also let them know this is not what they will actually hear in such scenarios.

 

For example, the real-world version of 我可以点菜了is simply 老板, 点菜 or 服务员, 点菜.

For example, a slightly extended idea for intermediate learners would be some dialogue on problem solving. 

 

- Reserving a table for five persons

- Adding two more seats to the booking 

- Questioning the bill - "we didn't order item C which has appeared on our bill"

- we ordered dish A but it hasn't come yet. 

- the cup/bowl/chopsticks are  broken/dirty , please change it
