South China Morning Post topic: 40 years of reform

This week's topic in the SCMP - 40 years of reform and opening up, is not all blinkered views and fawning upon the Party and Xi. These short videos and articles gives a summary of China's process of modernisation initiated by Deng Xiaoping in 1978. Worth a read, especially for people who are or are planning to study in China.

Hard to believe it's 40 years already, I had to count the years with my fingers to convince myself!Do you people realise that very few of us would be here if China had remained fixed as it was in 1976?

Some interesting articles. (I didn't read them all.) And some classic illustrations.

as a insider, I am so grateful for this, no matter how side-effect or mistaken  there had .

Before that, Chinese is kind of mixture of north korea and India,  what is more , much poor , have famines sometime. No one imagines China can be like today, I guarantee you, not even Mr. Deng.
