Moshen Posted November 24, 2018 at 10:53 AM Report Posted November 24, 2018 at 10:53 AM I have a Samsung Galaxy J3 mobile phone and I enabled Chinese as a language on the phone. However, I don't see how to get a Chinese keyboard or input system to come up as an option either within email or within WeChat. Can someone point me to an answer? Normally when I have a question about my mobile phone I ask at the AT&T store, but this is one they're not going to be able to help me with! I have someone writing to me in Chinese on WeChat and I would like to try to reply in Chinese but all I can see is the Qwerty keyboard. Quote
edelweis Posted November 24, 2018 at 03:23 PM Report Posted November 24, 2018 at 03:23 PM Hm I don't know how it works on recent phones but on my older kitkat android phone I had to install Chinese keyboard support, and now I can switch between keyboards by a long press on the crank wheel key... 889 Posted November 24, 2018 at 03:48 PM Report Posted November 24, 2018 at 03:48 PM Try going to Google Play and installing Google Pinyin. (And once you have multiple language support, how to switch between keyboards is often not intuitive.) Quote
TheBigZaboon Posted November 25, 2018 at 03:33 AM Report Posted November 25, 2018 at 03:33 AM If you use Google pinyin, there's a little globe down at the bottom that allows you to switch between Roman letters and Chinese character input via pinyin. If you want to go to Google pinyin from your normal method, or back to your normal method from Google pinyin, you will have to use the language and input items in your settings menu. I have a Samsung phone, and I find that the normal input methods for languages in my region of the world are so bad, I use Google pinyin as my normal input method most of the time. TBZ Quote
