New Members AnnaKr Posted November 28, 2018 at 04:33 PM New Members Report Posted November 28, 2018 at 04:33 PM What resources (websites or programs) you usually use for studying Chinese dialects? Can you recommend some? Quote
Luxi Posted November 29, 2018 at 10:34 AM Report Posted November 29, 2018 at 10:34 AM For listening practice, Ximalaya FM has some podcasts in 方言, search by the name of the dialect or area 话 (Shanghainese dominates, naturally). There are a lot of 'comic' clips of the hysterical-whistle-and-bang variety mixed up, but some are serious and may even have a transcript. There's a mooc in 中国大学MOOC, organised by Wuhan University. It is for Chinese students, so it's rather advanced, 方言与中国文化 (Dialect and Chinese Culture) https://www.icourse163.org/course/WHU-23002 It is currently running, which means registration is open. Once you signed in, the course material remains available even after the mooc has finished. 1 1 Quote
