does anyone know where I can find the cidian version? I already have the zidian, the geneological dictionary, but my friend has a chinese-english dictionary apparently put out by the same people (cover looks exactly the same except ci instead of zi). it's really good, and I'd like to buy a copy, but I can't seem to find it at amazon.com or any mention on the zhongwen.com site.

At zhongwen.com, you can see the title as "中文字譜". So, your friend's has a book titled 中文詞譜?

What was your friend able to tell you about where s/he got it?

Any chance it's the 中文大辭典? Different "ci". I didn't see a cover photo, but it's apparently an encyclopaedic dictionary with more detail to a term. If this were a zhongwen.com product, I doubt they'd be shy about promo-ing it.
