Short-term apartment rental needed

My wife and I are planning to come to Beijing for one month starting in mid-October. During this time we plan to attend a private language school and each take individual lessons for 4 hours a day, 5 days a week.

Can anyone in the Forum suggest whom we might contact to find an apartment that we can rent by the week or month? The apartment should be near most of the schools (we haven't chosen one yet), and come equipped with a kitchen and kitchen utensils so we can prepare meals there.

The size of the apartment is not critical. It should be clean an up-to-date, however. We also need advice on a fair amount to pay for a weekly or monthly rental for 4 weeks. Is US$1000 a month too much to pay, for example, for a one-bedroom?
