New Members paulsateahead Posted January 5, 2019 at 06:56 PM New Members Report Share Posted January 5, 2019 at 06:56 PM Hello, I acquired this box for a friend of mine but as I don't speak Chinese I couldn't know exactly what type of tea this was. Can somebody translate me the bottom of the box? It would be super nice! Paul

abcdefg Posted January 6, 2019 at 12:59 AM Report Share Posted January 6, 2019 at 12:59 AM This tea is most commonly made in compressed round discs 饼茶 or compressed rectangular bricks 砖茶。 Since your container only contains 100 grams of tea, it might be a smaller form, such as a palm-of-the-hand-sized "bowl" of compressed tea 沱茶 (which looks like this picture.) Or it could be small clumps of tea leaves that were chipped off a larger cake of tea. Possible, but less likely, that it is loose leaf tea. Looks like it was from 2011, which makes it 8 years old. Ageing often improves quality of these "raw" Pu'er teas (like your's; it is marked 生.) So it might be real good. If you want to know how to brew it, this illustrated article might be helpful: https://www.chinese-forums.com/forums/topic/48844-warming-up-to-pu’er-a-beginner’s-guide-普洱茶/ 2
