Is this story from 聊斋志异? no, pfff, its from 子不语，聊斋志异 is much harder and more precisely written than this kind of story. so can Classical Chinese be read aloud? sure，ferno. and it sounds more rhythmic since the sentences are short and there is always a short pause after each word---- which means one character.
