When I think of old dictionaries, I think of the nightmare fuel EPWING. But it seems that might have been a wholly Japanese affair. Doesn't seem like many if any Chinese dictionaries got published in that format, ironically to my dismay these days as I have a pretty nice EPWING setup going in EMACS now.
