New Members jeffdavis1X85 Posted February 15, 2019 at 10:07 PM New Members Report Posted February 15, 2019 at 10:07 PM Hi, I'm HIV+ and plan to work in China. Lots of controversial info about it so I wanna hear from those who are HIV+ and in China. So if anyone who is HIV+ and recently (2018 and up) came for work in China and got (or didn't get) residence permit - I'd like to hear from you. I wanna hear real stories when ppl got residence permit and 1 year stay AFTER they did blood test and were disclosed that they're HIV+. Did you get permit anyway? I also wanna hear ppl that are HIV+ went to China for a long term work and got denied of residence permit because of HIV. What happened to you after? Did you just go back? Thank you. Quote
imron Posted February 17, 2019 at 11:12 PM Report Posted February 17, 2019 at 11:12 PM There are are number of previous threads on the forums about people with HIV wanting to come to China. https://www.chinese-forums.com/forums/topic/55277-enter-china-with-hiv/ https://www.chinese-forums.com/forums/topic/48057-studentwork-visa-residence-permit-for-hiv-patient/ https://www.chinese-forums.com/forums/topic/54659-i-am-hiv-positive-and-i-just-got-a-scholarship-for-the-exchange-study-to-china/ https://www.chinese-forums.com/forums/topic/53643-can-i-get-deported-if-i-get-hiv-only-after-iv-lived-in-china-and-from-a-chinese-citizen/ Although not exactly your situation, unfortunately, I think it is likely you will be denied a visa/residence permit. New Members jeffdavis1X85 Posted February 18, 2019 at 12:57 AM Author New Members Report Posted February 18, 2019 at 12:57 AM No, it doesn't help, the data is marked 2010... I specifically indicated in my question that I want up-to-date info. Quote
Shelley Posted February 18, 2019 at 01:46 AM Report Posted February 18, 2019 at 01:46 AM At the bottom of the document it says updated 7/6/18. Please try and remember we are trying to help and although not perfect we are making an effort. If you require instant, up to date, accurate information a trip to your local visa office may be more useful, but if you are patient and pleasant you may find someone here comes along with the info you need. 4 Quote
DavyJonesLocker Posted February 18, 2019 at 01:56 AM Report Posted February 18, 2019 at 01:56 AM I work for a state company and there are very famiar with the visa rules and a better relationship with the visa bureau than private companies . its a flat out NO. if you are HIV+ you absolutely will not get a visa and will be removed from the country . A lot of rules are bent in China depending of the "guanxi" but not there one on being HIV+ (this I know personally). Theiir words not mine from last year but the visa policy hasn't changed and also it's visit rules are becoming stricter not easier Sorry buddy, is just the way it is. 1 1 Quote

I don't think anything has changed in China with regards to this during that time. If you can't find anything more up-to-date, then I would suggest trying to apply anyway and then coming back and providing an update with what happened (regardless of success or failure) so that future readers in a similar situation will have something relevant from 2019. 1 Quote
