Is the translation of this proverb correct?

Recommended Posts

I found this Chinese proverb online "To learn a language is to have one more window from which to look at the world" and wanted to add the Chinese version of it to the essay I'm currently working on. I found this translation below but I wanted to ask to make sure it's correct.

学一门语言,就是多一个观察世界的窗户。

Is the translation above correct?

Thank you!

i mean, it means roughly the same thing. but whether it is 'correct' or not is different question...

I found this version of the proverb on-line: 多学一门语言,多看一个世界 as well as this expanded one:

多学一门语言,多看一个世界,多过一种人生

Here is the source and a discussion of the proverb's meaning: https://zhidao.baidu.com/question/629758535489091364.html
