Major for China Government Scholarship?

I'm applying for this scholarship, and I need to put down my intended field of study. I'm not entirely sure of what I want to study, but I was thinking either medicine or engineering. The problem is that my math and science background isn't exactly stellar. Does anyone know if I will be competing with Chinese students as well as foreigners? Will I have a better chance of getting the scholarship if I apply in the humanities?
