trevelyan Posted September 1, 2005 at 05:38 PM Report Share Posted September 1, 2005 at 05:38 PM Hey JR, It was actually an accident that the link you saw was up that long.... in the interest of spilling the beans, its related to a new site I've been experimenting with that automates the process of managing Chinese-English vocabulary lists. The service is integrated with the Adso database to simply data entry (users submit a Chinese word and english and pinyin are automatically imported). The site is also integrated with the "Quick Add" feature in Adsotrans. If users opt-in to the system, any vocabulary contributed to the database using their login name as contributor will automatically get appended to their private vocabulary list for later review and testing. http://www.adsotrans.com/vocab/ Everything is pretty experimental right now, but if you want to test things out, try creating an account and creating an empty vocabulary list. Make sure that you have the "Integrate with Adso" option selected on your wordlist, then try submitting content to Adso through the "Quick Add" feature. The new vocabulary should be automatically apprended to your most recent vocabulary list. Users can also select to have their wordlists emailed to them at self-selected intervals. All this being said, everything is pretty experimental, so functionality, etc. is going to change as the kinks get worked out. Flashcard system just went into place tonight, and needs to be ironed-out. But suggestions are more than welcome.
