Z visa - got work permit but not residency

Thanks @roddy, we are looking for a different job now , the problem is we don't know when he hands in his resignation, will they agree to give him his the release letter on time for us to move to the new job or they will make it difficult for us. No point working with for a school with this uncertainty. We have three kids, two of them should start school in September so we need to be settled and stable before then.
