CrassPip Posted June 3, 2019 at 04:49 PM Report Posted June 3, 2019 at 04:49 PM Almost 20 years ago I took some Chinese classes. The professor gave us Chinese names. I know the surname and one character and the pronunciation of the given name, but I'm not sure what the missing character would be. I don't know if it is possible to figure out, but any guesses would be appreciated. The name is 欧阳(?)思 , Ōuyáng de(?) sī. It appears that 德思 is used for the Dursleys in Harry Potter, so I'm not sure if that would be a good choice, though I like the meanings. There are lots of 'de' characters, but I'm sure many of them would not be a good fit. (I realize there may be many possibilities, but I'm hoping someone with an ear for Chinese names can suggest the best options.) Thanks! Quote
ganbei Posted June 4, 2019 at 04:07 AM Report Posted June 4, 2019 at 04:07 AM For words of the de pinyin, 德 is definitely the one most appropriate for names. Dursleys are 德思礼 not 德思 so I think you should be okay. Quote
