księżycowy Posted June 5, 2019 at 04:27 PM Report Posted June 5, 2019 at 04:27 PM Does anyone have the PDF of An Introduction to the Foochow Dialect by Chen and Norman? Since it's been taken down on ERIC, it's been hard (if not near impossible) to find. I would very much love to get a copy! Thanks! Quote
Michaelyus Posted June 6, 2019 at 11:10 AM Report Posted June 6, 2019 at 11:10 AM Seconded! It would have been here, although it is currently saying "PDF pending restoration". Quote
roddy Posted June 6, 2019 at 12:28 PM Report Posted June 6, 2019 at 12:28 PM Is this it? Wait, that needs this, which is not available. I also found this while looking, which you've probably already seen. 1 Quote
889 Posted June 6, 2019 at 01:47 PM Report Posted June 6, 2019 at 01:47 PM The OP wasn't very clear, but it must be the English edition of the text he's looking for; the Chinese edition is easily available. Quote
księżycowy Posted June 6, 2019 at 02:59 PM Author Report Posted June 6, 2019 at 02:59 PM Yes, sorry. I meant the English text with the actual lessons in it. I've seen the Chinese character version floating around. Having the glossary would be great too. Thanks for any help! Quote
księżycowy Posted June 8, 2019 at 01:42 PM Author Report Posted June 8, 2019 at 01:42 PM The pdf is apparently here too: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/234715736_AN_INTRODUCTION_TO_THE_FOOCHOW_DIALECT The problem is, research gate is quite strict about varifying you are an actual researcher, so I can't get an account easily. 大块头 Posted June 8, 2019 at 02:17 PM Report Posted June 8, 2019 at 02:17 PM ResearchGate is a website where researchers can post papers they write, so if the authors haven't uploaded it themselves it won't be available. The book you're looking for isn't uploaded - I logged in with my .edu email just to be sure. Where are you located? It looks like several university libraries have this book. Could you request a loan through your local library? Quote
księżycowy Posted June 8, 2019 at 10:31 PM Author Report Posted June 8, 2019 at 10:31 PM Ah, I see. Thank you for confirming whether or not it was on Research Gate. I'll keep digging. Quote
