DavyJonesLocker Posted June 18, 2019 at 02:48 AM Report Posted June 18, 2019 at 02:48 AM For those of you who don't know its 18th June today and what has become a common sales day in china . I *think* its a sales promotion day originated by the online shopping store Jing Dong 京东 Its pretty similar to 11.11 (双十一) I was at the Jing Dong owned supermarket yesterday (called '7 Fresh') and things were pretty cheap, around a 1/2 - 3rd off many items . I stocked up on a few more expensive items like whiskey which is even cheaper than western prices and not fake . About a 3rd off but even the original prices are very competitve! I bought 6 JIF peanut butter which will keep me going for a while For coffee drinkers, Illy (Italian) is 49 a tin which is normally 80 to 90 or so now. Given I go through a tub a week there are good savings here . Going back today to load up of a few things but of course the big oulet is the JD APP. I can see myself spending 5000 today easily on consumables Might be worth a look? 2 Quote

889 Posted June 18, 2019 at 06:23 AM Report Posted June 18, 2019 at 06:23 AM Services like Shipbao will trans-ship Taobao/JD.com purchases to Hong Kong pretty cheaply and pretty quickly, though there's a long list of things they don't trans-ship. 2 Quote
