johnk Posted June 20, 2019 at 10:23 PM Report Posted June 20, 2019 at 10:23 PM I may be wrong but I read it as: 年制乾隆 Quote
Shelley Posted June 20, 2019 at 11:10 PM Report Posted June 20, 2019 at 11:10 PM Yes but remember not to place any faith in the mark. The same mark and therefore the same date can be used for 100 years or more or it a modern piece with a supposedly old mark. This happens a lot, I am not saying yours is not old, but it was probably made last year Quote

New Members NoobIndustry Posted June 21, 2019 at 04:29 PM New Members Report Posted June 21, 2019 at 04:29 PM Well, it is hard for you to understand, but the true order is: 乾隆年制 (It is hard to explain, but sometimes when you read some old Chinese books or marks, the correct order is from right to left, which can be seen in many Japanese books today) The meaning is this plate was made during the Qing dynasty, and people in power at that time was called 乾隆, about 1700-1800 if it is true. However, most of them are fake. 1 Quote
