Juni Posted September 16, 2019 at 05:19 PM Report Posted September 16, 2019 at 05:19 PM Hey, so my and my friend decided to study Chinese together, and I was wondering how you guys would go about studying effectively with a friend. Would you just simply work through a book together? I usually study alone, so I'm not so sure about any good methods when studying with a partner. Quote
Shelley Posted September 16, 2019 at 05:32 PM Report Posted September 16, 2019 at 05:32 PM Yes, I would recommend working through a textbook together, especially to start with then I would start to look around for other things to supplement your learning. What level are you both at? Are they the same? If you are both beginners then I would suggest starting with book one, lesson 1 and going through it all to check you are on the same level. It will be fun to have some one to work through the dialogues with and to help explain grammar and usage. I am a big fan of New Practical Chinese Reader, it has a textbook, a workbook, and a teacher's book so you can check each others answers. There are also audio CDs and video available on line. It teaches, reading and writing, listening and speaking. If you both got the NPCR and worked through all the volumes, I should think you would be at very reasonable level. 1 Quote
