Reference Letter

Hello,

 

When a company asks you to provide a reference letter from a previous employer, can you ask any previous employer you worked for before for a reference letter, or the latter should be provided by the last previous employer?

Any previous employer, unless...

 

If you've already been employed in China, in which case you would also need to have a "release letter" from that employer.

@mungouk what if you left china for your home country before your visa expired and applying again for a new visa, then a release letter isn't necessary but a reference letter from any previous employer right?

You're best off asking your potential employer. They are the ones who are going to apply for the documents for you. They should know what will be needed, and find out if not.

@anonymoose The company accepted all the documents I sent including a reference letter from a previous employer, in Morocco not the one I worked for in China though, as I am applying again from my home country for a new visa. They said it should be fine. I hope
