New Members ANewPope23 Posted October 17, 2019 at 03:30 PM New Members Report Posted October 17, 2019 at 03:30 PM Suppose I have done a year of language study in Taiwan supported by a Taiwanese government's scholarship, after that year I want to do a master's degree in Shanghai. If I applied for Mainland China's scholarship, would I be viewed negatively because I had been a recipient of a Taiwanese scholarship? Or does it depend on the type of scholarship I applied for? Lu Posted October 17, 2019 at 09:41 PM Report Posted October 17, 2019 at 09:41 PM In my experience, it is no problem at all. I have worked for a very pro-independence newspaper in Taiwan and for a Taiwanese governmental organisation, and I have never had any trouble getting a Chinese visa. I assume the Chinese government is aware of these things on my resume, because I don't hide them very well, but they still let me in without a hitch and even invite me to official 活动. Quote
