Khaoula Posted October 19, 2019 at 03:55 PM Report Posted October 19, 2019 at 03:55 PM Does anyone have experience with applying for a chinese work visa in South Korea before? Is it possible to apply in South Korea instead of Hong Kong if you wish to? Quote
ChTTay Posted October 20, 2019 at 06:11 AM Report Posted October 20, 2019 at 06:11 AM The issue is getting a letter for anywhere other than your home country. Has your employer said they can do this? Quote

zhouhaochen Posted December 8, 2019 at 09:03 AM Report Posted December 8, 2019 at 09:03 AM It depends on whether the Chinese embassy in Seoul accepts work visa applications by non South Korea passport holders or residents. If they do, then you are good to go if not then not. Based on my experience, most likely not, but check with them (I know easily said and difficult to say because embassy websites are notoriously inaccurate and they never pick up the phone - but thats the best advice I have). I am no expert on the topic, but for our foreign staff in the last few years we managed to convert their visas here in China into work visas without them needing to go home, so there is a way to do this, however there are loads of admin hurdles. Also, just getting the documents together usually requires a trip back home as it has become a complete nightmare with the verified cerfitified and what not translations being required today. Quote
