So, I thought; might as well share them with you. I'll give you guys a new tongue-twister (almost) daily for the upcoming couple of weeks... till I run out I guess? I'll list them below, together with their derived English name. List of Tongue-twisters 鹅与河 - The Goose and the River 树与醋 - The Tree and the Jar of Vinegar 虎和猴 - The Tiger and the Monkey 扁担与板凳 - Carrying Pole and the Wooden Bench 饼与盆 - Cookie and the Basin 任命与人名 - Personal Appointment and Personal Name 严圆眼和严眼圆 - Mr. Yan Yuanyan and Mr. Yan Yanyuan I've chosen to not include an English translation of the tongue-twisters. If you do want to know what the tongue-twister is about I'd recommend you download a Chinese dictionary plug-in for your browser. If you haven't checked the Putonghua Xuexi app out already, then you should regardless of your Chinese level. Most of these tongue-twisters, together with their audio, are borrowed straight from that app. Quote

If you provide me with a a source (in Standard Mandarin) then I don't mind cutting up the sound in Audacity and adding intonation like I did above. The issue with 绕口令 is that their version differ widely. For example, 《鹅与河》 can be found under 《鹅过河》 on Youtube. But, it has some unnecessary parts in there: e.g. "弟弟说:" "哥哥说:" which make this particular 绕口令 a lot easier. Quote

Weyland Posted December 20, 2019 at 03:37 PM Author Report Posted December 20, 2019 at 03:37 PM 《 虎与猴 》 山前有只虎， shān qián yǒu zhī hǔ, 山下有只猴。 shān xià yǒu zhī hóu. 虎撵猴，猴斗虎； hǔ niǎn hóu, hóu dòu hǔ; 虎撵不上猴， hǔ niǎn bu shàng hóu, 猴斗不了虎。 hóu dòu bu liǎo hǔ. 《虎与猴》.mp3 FYI; the pronunciation on the MP3 misreads "斗不了" and "撵不上" by reading the 不 in the fourth tone, while it should be read in a neutral tone. 虎撵 is also read out loud as if its a single word, which can be confusing.
