mintaj Posted January 10, 2020 at 11:38 AM Report Posted January 10, 2020 at 11:38 AM hey, i think i can ask about it here, so my friend want a tattoo "don't do drugs" in chinese, and he asked me about translation. My question is it correct "不吸毒“?because I know drugs is also "毒品" so what now? Quote
roddy Posted January 10, 2020 at 02:59 PM Report Posted January 10, 2020 at 02:59 PM The slogan you'd see on posters is usually either 拒绝毒品 or 远离毒品. I'm sure there's some Chinese idiom about a clean and healthy life which would make a better tattoo though. 1 Quote

anonymoose Posted January 10, 2020 at 06:30 PM Report Posted January 10, 2020 at 06:30 PM Quote Incidentally, friends don't let friends get Chinese character tattoos. Depends. Some friends shave their friend's eyebrows off when they are drunk. Encouring the friend to get a 拒绝毒品 tattoo would be consistent with this modus operandi. As it stands, I'm quite hoping his friend will post a picture of the tattoo when it's done. 1 Quote

Tomsima Posted January 13, 2020 at 12:56 AM Report Posted January 13, 2020 at 12:56 AM at least they got a kind of cutesy font thing going for it...still a slightly strange and disappointing translation though. shame, I was getting ready to recommend 拒绝黄赌毒 as a viable alternative ? Quote
