Outofin Posted September 12, 2005 at 05:19 PM Report Posted September 12, 2005 at 05:19 PM Congratulations! I heard that one reason Shanghai lost this round to Hong Kong was that Disney strictly followed their no-TVchannel-no-park rule and unfortuanately they're not allowed to have a TV channel in Mainland. There was nothing Shanghai municipal gov't could do about. This leads to another issue when China will change it policy on foreign participation in the media. Quote
Ian_Lee Posted September 13, 2005 at 11:28 PM Report Posted September 13, 2005 at 11:28 PM According to this article published in AppleDaily and circulated in Mainland's Blog Journal, the launching of HK Disneyland signifies the third Chinese-Western Cultural Encounter in the last 200 years: http://www.peacehall.com/news/gb/pubvp/2005/09/200509140325.shtml Quote
gato Posted September 14, 2005 at 01:01 AM Report Posted September 14, 2005 at 01:01 AM I wonder what they mean by "cultural encounter." Can they be neatly separated into first, second, and third? I saw a rap/hip-hop danceshow on China Central TV. It's just as bad as the American ones, even though it comes off an obvious distant imitation. Peacehall (boxun), by the way, is not accessible in China. Quote
Ian_Lee Posted September 14, 2005 at 02:46 AM Report Posted September 14, 2005 at 02:46 AM Gato: Sorry that I don't realize that Boxun is not based in Mainland and also inaccessible there. The article is more related to cultural shock than hip-hop, Quote
skylee Posted February 3, 2006 at 11:47 AM Report Posted February 3, 2006 at 11:47 AM I think it shouldn't have happened. Disney again shuts its doors to the public TVB news of 2.2.06 Quote
Quest Posted February 3, 2006 at 01:23 PM Report Posted February 3, 2006 at 01:23 PM 翻栏杆的应该是mainlanders吧? Quote
skylee Posted February 4, 2006 at 12:17 AM Report Posted February 4, 2006 at 12:17 AM Quote
