carlo Posted September 13, 2005 at 08:50 AM Report Posted September 13, 2005 at 08:50 AM I just found out that I'm going to MC a friend's wedding in ten days' time, and half of the ceremony is going to be in Chinese. Has anyone here done this? Can you offer tips, words of encouragement? I have never done anything like this ever (the only public speaking in Chinese I do sort of regularly is business presentations), and it's too late now to change my mind. Of course people know it's not my native language and I am sure will be forgiving, but I still want to make it look nice. Is there like a book I can read? Anything I should or shouldn't say? Jokes that I should and shouldn't tell? I'm probably going to be more nervous than the bridegroom.... Quote

carlo Posted September 20, 2005 at 04:29 AM Author Report Posted September 20, 2005 at 04:29 AM Thanks. I've had a look in Wangfujing bookstore and also borrowed some wedding videos from friends, just to get an idea of what to expect (have been watching lots of these, very interesting to say the least -- countryside and city weddings alike). I also got some material from the 婚姻公司 with lines for me to practice. ;) Quote
