Hey everyone

quick question regarding sentance structure when using 的 地 得。My grammar is not so good, so perhaps this is a simple rule that has been long overlooked

as I was reading a graded Chinese reader (汉语分级阅读3) I was wondering why sometimes we use 的 with an adjective, but other times you don't。

I thought I noticed a pattern like if the adjective was before the noun, then you would add the particle

adj+的 + noun

无聊的书

大的超市

but if the adjective is placed after the noun, then you don't need to or you shouldn't, (I'm not sure) add the particle

noun + adj

退长

旅行包干干净净

so I was wondering if this is the correct grammar structure for this particular particle? furthermore, are there other structures like this with the other particles (地,得)。

whenever writing my own articles on Italki for practice, I usually make mistakes with these particles and their placement, but I'm never 100% sure why

MS Style Guide for Simplified Chinese

I'm just curious why people are using this as a resource.  It's not too different from quoting Google translate?
