Then I'll see if he's still got the photos before trying to work with enormous backup files.

I'll go ahead and re-upload the photos on my blog then :P

You know what. Rereading that topic I've only just noticed (although maybe it's pointed out in the thread) that he says he'd like to join the PLA "as an officer." Which is even better. He's not going to enlist at the bottom of the army and work his way up. No, he wants to be in charge of a little bit of it from day one.

Though he wasn't an officer just a member of the infantry

If the site's running slow just now that's entirely my fault...

Just replaced some attachments that had been missing - about 200 files, but most of those automatically updated profile photos. Some very important bread photos as well.

As far as I'm aware, that's everything - actual posts were never affected, we temporarily lost two weeks of attachments and avatars when the filesystem was replaced from a backup. Those are all back in place now.

If anyone's noticing any oddities - specifically some avatars not showing, let me know, ideally with your browser / OS. Made some changes to try and speed the site up a bit today, but may need to tweak some settings.

Fonts appear to have gone a bit wonky as well?

Fixed now. Just missing a few avatars.

Was messing up mobile as well - have turned it off until I can spend a bit more time tweaking it.

But what if it's a picture of abcdefg's lunch ?

Haha! I'll see what I can do. Probably have the original photos lying around on a memory card. If not I will cook the lunch again.

"Oh no, I need to make my favourite lunch again," moaned abcdefg.

Anyway, no photos or posts were lost.

During winter, when days are shorter, I often cook a featured Chinese supper for these pages at about 10 am so the photos will have optimal natural light. Feels strange to not be doing that now, here in Texas.
